Quiltessential

I cannot tell you how thrilled Penny and I were last year when we received an email from Erin of House on Hill Road.  She wanted to profile Sew-Ichigo in her forthcoming book, Quiltessential.  The book is has been published a few months now and it is so exciting and an incredible honour to be in the company of some amazing designers.
It is a directory style book; a reference for process and design.  Inside you'll find piecing techniques, texture, colour and practicalities like quilt sizes, fabric maths and binding alongside clear and detailed  photographs and rich inspiration images.  I've had it sat on my shelves a few months now and it is my go to resource when I want to check on a technique or just bounce ideas around my head.
I did have a wry grin at the mention of grease proof paper for the freezer paper technique.  I have the UK edition and at an editorial level, someone has made the decision that grease proof is the nearest UK equivalent to freezer paper!  The tulip design in the picture above might look familiar: it's Charise's  'Hello Spring'.  There are lots of other familiar faces inside from Rita of Red Pepper Quilts to Kajsa Wikman of Syko.  A thoroughly useful, inspiring and recommendable book!
