Black Friday 25% Discount!

A black friday sale awaits you here at Sew-Ichigo! There is a 25% off all our patterns in our shop, plus the Craftsy and Etsy shops.

There will be changes starting in January to what we sell, where and pricing may rise at some point to take account on new EU legislation that effects all digital sales to the EU no matter where the seller is based- see here and here for more info.  We don't know exactly what the full impact will be but we hope to still be selling to everyone everywhere as soon as we can.  Our guess is it will take a little while to get everything into place so this is a great time to take advantage of our annual Black Friday discount and this one is even bigger than last years!
Obvious choices are the Sew Very Christmas pattern selection:

Or the best selling, Kitchen Classics:

Don't forget the very handy Latte to Go with the free gift card holder tutorial:

And the ever useful Strawberry-Ichigo

The price has been discounted for you on Etsy and Craftsy.  To get your 25% discount in our Sew-Ichigo shop, use blackfriday as your code!  See our tutorial page for lots of free links to make bags, mini quilts and more with our block patterns.  Discount runs from Thursday to Sunday inclusive.

Happy thanksgiving to USA readers!  Kerry and Penny xxx

Quiltessential

I cannot tell you how thrilled Penny and I were last year when we received an email from Erin of House on Hill Road.  She wanted to profile Sew-Ichigo in her forthcoming book, Quiltessential.  The book is has been published a few months now and it is so exciting and an incredible honour to be in the company of some amazing designers.
It is a directory style book; a reference for process and design.  Inside you'll find piecing techniques, texture, colour and practicalities like quilt sizes, fabric maths and binding alongside clear and detailed  photographs and rich inspiration images.  I've had it sat on my shelves a few months now and it is my go to resource when I want to check on a technique or just bounce ideas around my head.
I did have a wry grin at the mention of grease proof paper for the freezer paper technique.  I have the UK edition and at an editorial level, someone has made the decision that grease proof is the nearest UK equivalent to freezer paper!  The tulip design in the picture above might look familiar: it's Charise's  'Hello Spring'.  There are lots of other familiar faces inside from Rita of Red Pepper Quilts to Kajsa Wikman of Syko.  A thoroughly useful, inspiring and recommendable book!

New year Latte slippers

Happy New Year everyone!

I wanted to quickly share a new pair of slippers I made using Ayumi's log cabin slipper pattern (you can get the slipper pattern here). I love this pattern!  I mean I really really really love it!

For the tops, I used my Espresso cup pattern which is available in the Parisienne Cafe Set.  The Espresso cups seem very appropriate for those early mornings when you put your slippers on. Reminding you that a little bit of caffeine will make everything all better.

Happy weekend to you all!
